For volunteers

A useful introduction has a clear next owner.

Connect Doctoremia with a clinic you genuinely know. Share enough context to open a conversation, then let the platform verify and the clinic decide.

You open the door. You do not provide care, promise access, or speak for the clinic.

The referral record

What makes an introduction useful

A warm introduction is specific enough to act on and modest enough to stay true. Four details give the next owner a responsible place to begin.

A three-owner handoff

Who owns what

Each owner has one bounded responsibility. The record moves forward without turning a helpful introduction into a guarantee.

Inside the volunteer workspace

Turn a connection into a meaningful contribution.

Share a clinic introduction, follow its progress, and contribute in ways that fit your experience and availability.

Introduce a clinic

Share a useful connection with the team and follow the recorded response. An introduction is recognized separately from successful onboarding.

Follow your assigned work

See your clinic assignments and keep the related conversation in the volunteer workspace.

Offer guidance

Opt into the team-supported mentorship process. Participation is voluntary, and a relationship requires both sides to opt in.

What we’re building next

These additions are not available yet. We’ll introduce them as the workflows are completed and released.

  • Shared clinic efforts

Join others as peers, see completed steps and coordinate in one conversation. Step back without losing your recorded contribution.

  • Hours, roles and service records

Document time, dated roles and specific contributions, with reviewed hours and associated clinic outcomes clearly distinguished.

  • Chapters and a growing network map

Connect through optional campus and regional groups, with a map built from real eligible chapter, volunteer and clinic records.

The bright line

Volunteers never cross these boundaries

Local trust helps open a conversation. It does not create a clinical role or the authority to make promises for anyone else.

Volunteers, clinicians, and medical students in small conversation groups inside a clinic lobby
  • 01

    No clinical work

Volunteers do not observe, advise, treat, handle records, or enter patient-care spaces through this role.

  • 02

    No speaking for a clinic

Volunteers describe the connection they know. Only clinic staff describe clinic policy, capacity, and requirements.

  • 03

    No participation or placement promise

An introduction may end with a decline or no response. A student opportunity exists only after the clinic publishes it.
